This innovative bag was created for those in underdeveloped nations who lack sanitation. It took a team of designers to come up with and create this idea, including Camilla Wirseen, Anders Wilhelmson, Bjorn Vinneras, Mikael Hedenqvist, Annika Nordin, Emery Yaolema Sindani, and Peter Thuvander. Peter has also worked on the Husmus recycling system, as discussed in the previous post.
The bag is able to be urinated or shit into and sanitized. The bag is then able to break down and become a part of nature, completely sustainable. Field tests with positive results have been completed in Kenya, and further tests are being done currently. It is exciting to think what a little design and science can do to better the world.
