Ban on Cul-de-Sacs
According to Time Magazine's Year in Ideas, Virginia has decided to ban developers from creating cul-de-sacs in new neighborhoods, claiming they will not plow or maintain the roads. Although some claim that these dead end streets are safer, research shows that they are not. Dead end roads may be a thing of the past - if other states follow Virginia's lead.
