Betacup

Betacup from the betacup on Vimeo.

In a new contest founded by Betacup, designers are asked to address the problem of paper coffee cups. We consume over 58 billion cups each year. This causes a huge problem regarding the waste of paper products - if people used coffee mugs this wouldn't be a problem.
To get the best designers to take part, Betacup is hoping to raise money to fund a $20,000 prize. You can help them out on kisckstarter. If you donate $20 you can receive a commemorative betacup, $200 for tickets to the award ceremony, and $2,000 to join the panel of judges.

  1. Is it not perfectly possible to recycle all paper cup waste now? Due to the PE / wax coating it is simply a matter of correctly sorting the waste surely?
